Anaemia can affect you in many ways including your ability to work and study, your menstruation and future pregnancies.
why is it important?
• You will receive free standard supplements for anaemia
• You may be offered a study treatment, Tranexamic Acid (TXA)
• You will be asked to keep a health diary about your wellbeing.
• You will be required to attend study visits and have blood tests
• TXA is already used to save the lives of people who have major bleeding such as injuries, major surgery and after childbirth
• TXA has no major common side effects and has no known long term side effects
What is Next?
If you are anaemic, we will invite you to take part in our research study:
• We are offering free blood test to check for anaemia in women who are aged 18 years or older and who have menstruation.
• If you have anaemia, we will offer you the opportunity to be part of an international study to find better ways of treating anaemia.
